PLATTNER LUXURY HOMES

Creating a bespoke identity rooted in Lake Norman

The Challenge:
Plattner Custom Builders creates luxury homes throughout the Lake Norman area, where craftsmanship, setting, and a highly personalized experience are central to the brand. The challenge was to create an identity that felt equally considered and distinctive—moving beyond the predictable house-and-key imagery commonly used throughout the homebuilding industry.

The Approach:
The new identity began with an icon inspired by the place Plattner calls home. We chose the blue heron—a familiar and iconic presence along Lake Norman—as the foundation of the new logo. Elegant, architectural, and distinctly local, it gave Plattner a meaningful symbol that could become uniquely their own.

From there, we built a bespoke visual system around the mark, pairing refined typography, a sophisticated color palette, elevated photography, and thoughtful layouts to create a brand that felt timeless rather than trendy.

The identity was carried across print, digital, marketing materials, and the website, with every detail designed to reflect the craftsmanship and individuality Plattner brings to each home.

The Result:
The new identity gave Plattner a distinctive presence within the luxury homebuilding market—one rooted in Lake Norman without relying on expected visual clichés. The blue heron became a recognizable signature for the brand, creating a sophisticated and memorable foundation that feels as custom-crafted as the homes Plattner builds.
